B.C. Manjunath / ensemble 2e2m / Onze Heures Onze
Léo Margue: directionCompositions: Alexandre Herer, Julien Pontvianne, Séverine Ballon
The idea of a collaboration between the Onze Heures Onze collective and the 2e2m ensemble first took shape several years ago when Léo Margue conducted Julien Pontvianne's AUM Grand Ensemble. On that occasion, Alexandre Herer and Léo Margue discussed their shared interest in the music of southern India.
At the same time, Alexandre Herer began to meet and collaborate more frequently with BC Manjunath, a master of this music and of the mridangam, an instrument emblematic of Carnatic music.
Centered around BC Manjunath and conducted by Léo Margue, the concert will feature eight musicians from diverse backgrounds, ranging from contemporary to improvised music. With compositions by Séverine Ballon, Alexandre Herer, and Julien Pontvianne.
